Good Life Bar - Boston, MA
Good Life wanted to do a “Basic” NYE party with the entire concept being to pick on just how basic a lot of Boston has become… The entire event was soaked in satire, including pumpkin spice mixed drinks served in Starbucks cups and a Canada Goose prize for the best costume. One of the ideas was to knock off the Lawn on D swings that happen to be one of the most heavily selfied objects in the city. Because we didn't have the budget to make an actual formed plastic LED-lit swing, we decided to make one from wood and paint it purple just like the swings in the Seaport. We laminated 8 sheets of .75”-thick plywood together, cut and sanded it for a long time to achieve this look. The NYE party was a huge success with plenty of selfies taken in the swing throughout the night. Afterwards, the swing was taken back, stripped of the paint and refinished with urethane as a gift for my mom to use outdoors.
